The Health Department works closely with the school districts in Clark County. Services provided include: 
 

  • vision and hearing screening and referrals

  • communicable disease surveillance and consultation

  • blood pressure checks

  • education regarding puberty, STIs and contraception

  • promoting the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity

  • dental care

  • various other topics.

Our Nurses also provide services to the many Amish and Mennonite schools throughout the county. Immunization clinics are hosted by some of these schools schools and take place every other month.

Emergency Vehicles

The Clark County Highway Department employs 29 full time employees. The Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance and construction of 300 miles of County Trunk Highways and responsible for the maintenance of approximately 225 miles of state and U.S. highways. The Highway Department's administrative office is located in Neillsville. 

The Clark County Health Department wants to ensure that you are informed and prepared for public health emergencies within Clark County.

Care Coordination

A Public Health Nurse from the Clark County Health Department visits you at your home or other preferred location throughout your pregnancy to provide you with a variety of educational materials. An individualized plan is made after the first visit to meet the needs of the client and focus on areas of concern. This personalized plan helps keep the mother and baby healthy and focused through the end of their pregnancy.

First Breath - Smoking Cessation

First Breath is a program that helps pregnant women in Wisconsin quit smoking. The program is coordinated by the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation with partners: State of Wisconsin Division of Public Health Bureau of Community Health Promotion, and APS Healthcare Inc. First Breath cessation strategies are integrated into existing prenatal care models, including public health services and private healthcare clinic appointments.
